Copyright and takedown

Our position

Mii Creator is an independent fan project, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo or any other company. “Mii” is a trademark of Nintendo, used on this site only descriptively — to say what style of avatar this tool makes, so that people looking for that style can find it.

Concretely, this site does not:

• Use any models, textures, sounds, fonts or artwork extracted from any game or console.
• Reproduce any company's logo, wordmark or interface design.
• Embed or reframe anyone else's tool.
• Claim to be official, licensed or compatible with any console's save data.

Every part in the editor is original vector artwork drawn for this project. That constraint is why the site's parts library grows more slowly than it otherwise might, and we consider that the right trade.

Characters in the gallery

The gallery contains original characters created for this site. We do not publish characters based on copyrighted or trademarked characters from games, films or television, even where there is obvious search demand for them, and we do not publish likenesses of private individuals.

Submitting a takedown request

If you believe material on this site infringes your copyright, trademark or other rights, tell us and we will act. We would rather remove something quickly than argue about it. Please include:

1. Your name and contact details, and the rights holder you represent.
2. The exact URL or URLs of the material in question.
3. A description of the work or mark you believe is being infringed.
4. Why you believe the use is not authorised.
5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate.

Send this to the contact address published on the about page, with “Takedown request” in the subject line.

What happens next

• We aim to acknowledge every request within three business days.
• Material that is clearly infringing is removed on receipt, before any discussion of the merits.
• Where a request is unclear, we will ask for specifics rather than ignore it.
• We keep a record of requests and what we did about them.

Reporting something else

The same address handles reports of content that is abusive, sexualised, targets a private individual, or otherwise breaches the terms of use. Include the URL and a short description of the problem.

A note on disclaimers

Calling a site “unofficial” reduces confusion; it does not settle questions of trademark, copyright or game assets on its own. That is why the substantive commitments above — original artwork only, no extracted assets, no third-party characters — matter more than this paragraph does.
