Privacy

What we store about you

Nothing that identifies you. There is no account system, no login, no email collection and no user profile. You can use every tool on this site without providing any personal information at all.

Where your characters live

In your browser. Saved characters, the in-progress draft and the island planner list are all written to your own device's local storage. They are not transmitted to us and we cannot see them. Two consequences worth knowing:

• Clearing your browser data deletes them, and we cannot recover them.
• They do not follow you to another device or another browser.

If a character matters to you, copy its code somewhere outside the browser. The code is the entire character.

Share links

A share link carries the character's settings inside the URL itself. Nothing is stored on a server to make the link work. Anyone with the link can open that character; a link is not a private object, so treat it accordingly.

Cookies

The site sets no tracking cookies and uses no advertising cookies. Local storage is used for the features described above — saving your work — and not for tracking or profiling.

Analytics

If privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics are used to count page views, they collect no personal data, set no cross-site identifiers, and are never used to build a profile of an individual visitor. No character data is ever included in analytics.

Third parties

Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request, as with any externally hosted resource. No other third-party service receives data from this site.

Children

This site is suitable for general audiences and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. As there are no accounts and no uploads, there is no user-submitted content to moderate.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request. You can remove everything this site has stored by clearing site data for this domain in your browser settings, or by usingDelete all on the My Characters page.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is stored, the change will be described on this page. Since the design goal is to store nothing, any change in that direction would be a significant one.
